The Italian Project

An international cooperation project between the Chamber and Italian entities, aiming to support artisans, develop heritage products, and enhance cultural and commercial exchange through training programs, joint exhibitions, and specialized technical support.

JERICHO VALE! SUPPORTING INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE TERRITORIAL ENHANCEMENT FOR THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR

The project aim is to strengthen the local governance system and the support services for employment and enterprises in the agri-food sector of Jericho Governorate.  
The project is based on a multi-stakeholder partnership, involving both Italian and in Palestinian actors, fostering the collaboration between public and private players at national and international level in order to promote development processes, best practices exchange and capacity building.

The project is addressed to the local authorities of Jericho, specifically Governorate of Jericho (GoJ) and Jericho Chamber of Commerce (JCoC), with a particular focus on the agri-food sector, it also involves the small agri-food producers and the Palm Farmers’ Cooperative Association (PFCA).

In order to achieve the above-mentioned objective, the project strategy is developed in three main pillars:

1. To strengthen local institutions capacities, strategic and operational tools for an efficient planning and service management for the agribusiness sector promotion through: exchange visits in Italy, strategic plan update and implementation, awareness events.
2. To strengthen the quality, quantity, accessibility and sustainability of services and equipment for SMEs in agribusiness sector to encourage achievement of international standards through participation in international fairs, support on infrastructure development and supply of equipment and services.
3. To strengthen the quality, quantity, accessibility and sustainability of professional trainings and job creation services for employment opportunities in the agribusiness sector through training programs, technical assistance and endowment funds for international certifications.
